Show Notes
Join Terry Collins and Murphy Fair for another edition of The Box Score, DTC Sports’ weekly high school football talk show. This week, Terry and Murphy recap Week 3 action, leading off with DeKalb County's thrilling 13-7 overtime victory against Watertown in the DTC Game of the Week. The guys break down all the scores and stats from around the area, including Cannon County's dominant 46-6 win over Pickett County, Gordonsville's 43-7 rout of Fayetteville, Livingston Academy's fourth-quarter comeback against Smith County, and Trousdale County's shutout victory over Innovation Academy.
Then, legendary head coach Gary Rankin, Tennessee’s all-time winningest football coach, joins the show to talk about his storied career, state championships, his thoughts on the changing landscape of high school sports (including the transfer portal and NIL), and whether he might ever return to the sidelines.
Finally, Murphy shares his expert predictions for key matchups across the state and previews this Friday night’s featured game on DTC3 as Smith County hosts Westmoreland.
